Installing a Doorstop

If there are too much doorknobs knocking stuff marks, holes & dents into you walls you need to do something. It is good to put a few doorsteps to solve the problem.

the first thing that you have to do is to decide the type of the doorstep.

you can select from a wall-mounted rubber stop that cushions the impact of the door handle or a spring-loaded or a solid-shaft stop that mounts to the baseboard.

after that you have to mark the exact spot where the doorknob goes in contact with the wall in case of using the wall-mounted type.

you have to attach the stop to the wall with the use of a supplied screw. after that you may use a plastic molly anchor if there is only a drywall to support.

next, find a spot on the baseboard that is two inches from the swinging edge of the door in case of using a baseboard-mounted doorstep.

you can either screw the shaft of the stop into the wall from the base or use separate screws to attach it to the baseboard.

the things that you are going to need are doorsteps, flexible spring, screwdriver sets, wall anchors and rubber wall bumper.
